Terminating a Registration in the Active Registry

This page will help you terminate a registration in our system. Once a registration has been terminated, and that termination has been approved by trhe Registrar, the form is moved from the Active Registry to the Inactive Registry, and an email will be sent to you from our office confirming this change in status of the registration.

Section 10(2) of the Act applies if you are a consultant lobbyist

(2) Within 30 days after the completion or termination of an undertaking for which a return was filed, the designated filer who filed the return shall inform the Registrar of the completion or termination of the undertaking.

Section 10(3) of the Act applies if you are an organizational lobbyist

(3) Within 30 days after an individual named in a return as an organization lobbyist ceases to be an organization lobbyist or ceases to be an employee of the employer named in the return, the designated filer shall inform the Registrar of the event.

To effect this change in your registration click here to login then open the "Active Registration" that you wish to terminate. At the top right of the Active Registration you will see a button that indicates "Notice of Termination"; click on it and, when the screen refreshes, you will see a new button at the top that says "Submit Termination". When you click on that button to send the Notification of Termination to the Alberta Lobbyists Registry, a box will pop up asking whether you are terminating the registration of that particular undertaking, or terminating your registration as a consultant lobbyist, and providing instruction on how to choose which option.
